Allison Weiss, 'Making it Up' -- Song Premiere

Allison Weiss has had a fantastic year. After legend Lou Reed asked the 25-year-old to join him on tour, Weiss finished some of her best material to date. Now, the singer is gearing up for a brand new EP, Making it Up.

The short album's title track begins with chugging electric guitar, reminiscent of the Strokes while Weiss' voice sounds like the female answer to Ben Gibbard. But before you know if, the track picks up big time, ascending into a tom-tom-heavy punk rocker.

"My favorite moment is right now," Weiss said in a press release. "I feel like I've just made the record I've been dying to make. I started playing electric guitar again. I got my hands on a tour van. I played in Europe with a legend. I flew over the Atlantic four times this summer. I've got this constant feeling that something great is about to happen."

Now a resident of Brooklyn, N.Y., Weiss says she'll release a brand new full-length in 2013. But until then stream her tune "Making it Up" below, and grab the EP on Jan. 29, exclusively through No Sleep Records.
