Jesse Boykins III, MeLo-X 'The Perfect Blues (Jacques Greene Remix)' -- Song Premiere

The recent release of Zulu Guru marks the first official full-length album by Jesse Boykins III and MeLo-X, but the pair have been making music together for a long time. Their collaborative sound is a mix of hip-hop, R&B and electric soul that hits with delicious smoothness.

That sound has since been made even more silky in this brand new remix by Jacques Greene. Boykins III said the song is about love, but Greene gives it a new vibe.

"The meaning of 'The Perfect Blues' continues to evolve with every remix and redirection it is given. Jacques Greene's minimal but rhythmical production gives the lyrics another dimension, still highlighting love being spread and to those who feel they have not known it prior to now," Bokyins III says.

Zulu Guru came out on Oct. 30 via Ninja Tune records and the pair are currently touring in support of the project. Stream and download the exclusive track below.
