Deerhunter's Bradford Cox to Play Jared Leto's Lover in 'Dallas Buyer's Club'

Deerhunter/Atlas Sound mastermind Bradford Cox is heading to the silver screen. According to Pitchfork, (via The Hollywood Reporter) the singer will star in his first film, the upcoming "Dallas Buyer's Club."

The movie follows the true story of AIDS activist Ron Woodroof (played by Matthew McConaughey) who sought alternative treatment in the mid-1980s for his terminal illness.

Another musician, 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto, stars in the film as Cox's cross-dressing lover who also suffers from AIDS.

Director Jean-Marc Valleé is currently shooting the movie in New Orleans with Jennifer Garner, Griffin Dunne, Denis O'Hare and the rest of the cast. "Dallas Buyer's Club" is set for release in 2013.
