Godspeed You! Black Emperor Do Interview With Puppet About Pizza (VIDEO)

This is quite possibly the most amazing video you'll see on the internet today.

Montreal post-rock titans Godspeed You! Black Emperor played the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago in August and while they were there guitarist Efrim Menuck hung out with Ratso, the weird rat-that-totally-looks-like-a-dog puppet host of Chic-a-Go-Go! -- Chicago's cable-access dance show for kids of all ages.

The interview with the normally press-averse Godspeed member is hilarious and Menuck is really good-natured about the whole thing.

Here are some highlights from Menuck:

On punctuation:

"You should use punctuation however you want to!"

On Canada being "just like Detroit":

"All of Canada is like Detroit -- it's all desolate."

On Godspeed playing with "that Carly Mae Jepson":

"No, we haven't played with her yet. But I'm sure we will someday."

On pizza:

"I don't like pizza, but I like people who like pizza."

The interview concludes with a bunch of small children attempting to dance to "Rocket Fall on Rocket Falls" off 2002's opus Yanqui U.X.O. The kids seem groggy, confused and possibly medicated -- footage that pretty much flies in the face of Menuck's assertion "you can dance to any of them" about his band's songs. (Shout out to the bespectacled red-haired kid that looks like he's about to hurl at the 4:42 mark. We feel you, buddy.)

Godspeed You! Black Emperor released their fourth studio album and first in a decade, Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!, in October via Constellation Records.
