Drunk 'Bohemian Rhapsody' Singer Wears Viking Helmet to Court Case

Robert Wilkinson, the Alberta man who earned some minor internet fame in March for his drunken rendition of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the back of a police car, continued his campaign to be awesome in court yesterday.

The unemployed karaoke singer showed up at his Edson, Alta. court appearance to fight charges of impaired driving and refusing a breathalyser test while wearing sunglasses, a Viking helmet complete with horns and a NASA T-shirt proclaiming: "I need my space."

What Wilkinson didn't have was a defence lawyer, having chosen to defend himself on the grounds his arrest was a violation of his Charter rights.

Wilkinson did not win his case.

He'll now have to pay a $1,400 fine and will be prohibited from driving for one year.

During Wilkinson's 15 minutes of fame he apparently received $1,000 to air his cop car karaoke video on the show World's Dumbest Criminals.
