Skrillex Quest
Contrary to popular belief, the browser-based game's "quest" isn't to score Skrillex, known to his mom as Sonny John Moore, a symmetrical haircut. Rather, the game is set in a world contained within an old forgotten 8-bit video game cartridge where main character P1 has to fight off glitches and corrupt code to save Princess Keys.
The wub-wub-wubs and bleeps of Skrillex songs like "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" and "Summit" play throughout the game. Additionally, game creator Jason Oda says the former From First to Last singer makes a cameo at the end of the game.
Oda, who has made video games for acts like Atreyu, Chemical Brothers, Fall Out Boy and Breaking Benjamin in the past, said building the game was difficult.
"Several months ago I was commissioned to make a game for Skrillex," Oda posted on Facebook. "It was a ton of work and a completely frustrating bullshit-fest along the way...but I am so happy to say that the game is finally, finally officially live! I'm super proud of it and really hope you check it out. I really think it's the best game I've ever done.
"Remember blowing the dust out of your NES cartridges when they glitched? This game is all about that from the perspective of the people within the game."
Skrillex will be on tour in December in Russia and Mexico. He's also confirmed to revisit the Full Flex Express tour where he crossed Canada this past summer in a train. The 2013 edition will travel through Canada next July.
