The film, tentatively titled "Sexual Healing," is set in the 1980s, around the time when Gaye was caught up in a dark world of drugs and alcohol.
Speaking to TMZ, Marvin Gaye III says "The producers and directors of this film are very wrong and shameful ... [They're] trying to do a film about a low period in his life. They don't even know the whole story."
Apparently, Gaye III and Kravitz grew up together and still remain friends to this day. The late singer's sing intends to "talk to [Kravitz] about why he would do this."
Gaye and other family members are meeting with lawyers to try and stop the movie's progress.
"I would hope [Lenny] doesn't have any idea that we are against this film being done," Gaye III told the gossip site. We'll have to wait and see what Kravtiz says about all this.
