Watch Dave Grohl's 'Sound City' Documentary Trailer -- Video

The official trailer for Dave Grohl's upcoming documentary has just hit YouTube, and it looks awesome. The Foo Fighters frontman's new film follows the history of Sound City studios in Los Angeles, where countless top-tier artists have recorded.

The trailer features a few cameos from Tom Petty, Neil Young, Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, Grohl himself and many others speaking on the history of the beloved studio and its gradual decline.

Albums ranging from Nirvana's Nevermind to Fleetwood Mac's Rumours were all recorded at Sound City, so the rock cred it holds is pretty important. The movie is set to premiere at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival (Jan. 2013), and according to Rolling Stone, will receive a full release the month after.
