Boy George Blocking Mexicans on Twitter After Presidential Mix-Up

Boy George is in agua caliente with the Mexican people right now. Earlier this week, the singer tweeted "Mexico has a hot new president and I hope he is good for the country!" Unfortunately, this was misconstrued to his adoring Spanish-speaking fans.

According to TMZ, the quote was incorrectly translated by several Mexican news outlets into "So the Mexican president is a tyrant. Well, if that's true Mexico needs good wishes."

The youthful Enrique Peña Nieto was elected for a six-year presidency back in July and assumed office on Dec. 1. Since the political figure's popularity is so high, Mexican fans have been slamming Boy George on social networks.

The Culture Club frontman's rep says George is "blocking anyone who annoys me by calling me 'racist' or mentioning 'presidents!'" Blocking an entire country from your high-profile life seems difficult, so we're not sure how successful he'll be.

"George has no political motivation or even knows anything about the candidates involved or their history, it was simply a good luck to the whole country," the rep adds.
