While the band was building its fan base, vocalist Josh Vaught and bassist Jack Egan lived in a tent to save money for the group. Rather than let the stress get to them, they took advantage of the humbling lifestyle and wrote their first single.
"Pressure is as common as life," the band tells Spinner. "You will feel it when you arrive in this world and when you leave. A pressure to survive, to win, to evolve, and love."
What could have been a "woe-is-me" acknowledgement of life's struggles is instead an upbeat anthem of standing up against the things that get you down. After all, as the lyrics insist, "All we need is rock n' roll."
"We hope this song provides a short reprieve," the band says. "It is a simple little tune that will make your hips move. No gimmicks, not overdone, no pressure. Thanks for listening."
