Adele, Baby: Singer Facing Fine for Not Registering Newborn

Adele is allegedly facing a fine for failing to register her baby son's birth with the necessary authorities.

According to U.K's "The Sun," Adele and her partner, Simon Konecki, missed the 42-legal deadline to be able to file the needed paperwork. Adele gave birth to a baby boy on Oct. 19, which was 51 days ago.

The paper reports that the singer now faces a $1,600 fine, but says that the oversight is common.

"Cops are hardly going to be banging on their door tomorrow and it's probably just an oversight on their part," source told the paper. "Most parents register their baby within a couple of weeks because it's a nice thing to do - and because there's a maximum fine of £1,000 if they don't. There's loads of reasons why parents are late and millions of couples don't bother for ages."

Adele has yet to share the name of her son to fans and the public. Just a few weeks ago, her album "21" sold over 10 million copies.

isn't it obvious and normal to have your child registered within the first week then???
How can anyone 'forget' to register, how on earth is a person going to get a passport or ID card in later life if not registered having been born.
Without registration, for a country you do not exist. Authorities cannot 'SMELL' that a newborn has come to earth; job for the parent (father...) to make sure this is done properly.

They don't require any id there at all.

she wanted to take her time to find a suitable name for son I dont see anything wrong with that del just get your son register and get on with your career and motherhood
