The Virginmarys, 'Dead Man's Shoes (Acoustic)' -- Video Premiere

The Virginmarys are a band from Macclesfield, England -- and they're close to blowing up here in the United States. With a sound that mixes mid-'90s grunge with the slick production of the Libertines, the VMs' debut album King of Conflict may just make you a disciple.

The band's video for their acoustic rendition of "Dead Man's Shoes" features the Virginmarys running amok in New York, chatting up the ladies at rock shows and hanging out on swing sets. It's a great introduction to the rockers' repertoire because you can really hear the gnarled intensity in singer Ally Dickaty's voice.

"I wrote the song 'Dead Man's Shoes' about addiction. It's a frantic, heavy riff song with some dark, personal lyrics. I love playing the song acoustically -- it puts a different spin on it," Dickaty tells Spinner.

"We filmed this acoustic video while we were in New York. It shows footage of us walking around Manhattan, doing a photo shoot in New Jersey and playing our CMJ gig in Brooklyn. We had such an amazing time over there. Really looking forward to going back and touring around America with the new album."
