The late George Harrison's exquisite black leather jacket hit the auction block at Bonhams' house Entertainment Memorabilia Sale in London, selling for a huge sum.
One lucky private collector went home with the Cavern Club and Hamburg-era jacket yesterday (Dec. 12) for £110,000 ($177,419). According to the AP, Harrison can be seen wearing the slick jacket in many photos from the early 1960s.
Also available at the auction was Harrison's custom-made Beatle boots from 1964 and an orange Western-style shirt identical to what he wore at the Concert for Bangladesh. Those items sold for £61,250 ($98,000) and £23,750 ($38,000), respectively.

reminds me of my good times from that era.

Somehow WQAM in Miami got one ticket which they held a contest for. To win, you had to be the first caller three times. Well, my oldest sister, Cynthia, won it.
So, we took her to Miami International Airport and put her on a 727 for Jacksonville where she saw the Beatles live.
I think she still has some of the Beatles junk. I think it's worth millions, go figure.
My wife would never sell any of her Beatles stuff she has been collecting since day one of their introduction no matter how much any of it is worth.

The correct word is "Memento" as in Memory.
It's not about the Moment, it's about the Memory.
This world is dying....and I say to the jacket...
Big friggin deal... !
Wow I thought it was Lennon's but I was close haha.

Unless your not in certain circles no one would believe you. Wonder why the family is selling ? Hopefully the money goes to a cause close to George's heart.
