Paul McCartney + Nirvana's Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic: 'Cut Me Some Slack'
- Posted on Dec 13th 2012 2:11AM by Dan Reilly
Way too many people freaked out when they heard Paul McCartney was going to be the new Kurt Cobain in a bastardized Nirvana reunion. Well, that didn't technically happen, but the former Beatle fronted a band that consisted of Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear, rocking a song called "Cut Me Some Slack" at the all-star 12-12-12 Concert for Sandy Relief. Check out the studio version above, and their "SNL" performance below.

Sounds like Helter Skelter'

I'm not sure that I can get used to Sir Paul doing this kind of music. I guess it isn't all that different from the flavor of "Helter Skelter" but just so different from anything that he's done in the past 40-45 years

Krist Novoselic is sick. PM is the soul of blues RR, and Dave Grohl is what every other front man wants to be, talented.

December 19 2012 at 12:03 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyMan, That's in the same category as Hi, Hi, Hi with a Nirvana twist, Paul's hit a rockin' stride he hasn't hit since 1979, right on!!
December 18 2012 at 12:58 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHey, cut him some slack.
It's a good song, and that's what's really all about-- the music.
Paul McCartney is now in a class where it is better for him to be seen, and not heard. His recent appearance on SNL showed why 70+yr old performers should smile and wave, and then get off the stage.
