According to The Times, Jimmy Greene moved with his family to Newtown in July. After other jazz musicians posted their condolences on Jimmy Greene's Facebook page, he responded: "As much as she's needed here and missed by her mother, brother and me ... Ana beat us all to paradise ... I love you, sweetie girl."
CBC News reports that the Greene family moved from Winnipeg, Canada, to Newtown, Conn. after Greene's wife got a job at a local university. Jimmy Greene was reportedly a faculty member at the University of Manitoba's school of music for three years before the family moved.
Ana Greene's older brother was also in the same school with her, but is reportedly OK.
In his biography that's listed on his website, Jimmy describes himself as a "saxophonist, composer, and bandleader" and has a long list of accolades and musical honors. The bio states that Jazzwise Magazine once called him "without doubt, one of the most striking young tenors of recent years."
Our thoughts and condolences are with Greene and his family, as well as with all the other victims and those affected by the tragedies in Newtown, Conn.

Bells toll for victims one week after shooting
Five funerals and a wake today
I'd like to adopt this family. " Ana Grace Marquez-Greene danced instead of walked, whether the music was in the air or just in her head, her family recalled at a funeral service at The First Cathedral church Saturday morning." See how they celebrated her life. She lives in our hearts. And she dances with the stars.
God bless all the families and the children....

My heart goes out to you and your family.
Your child looks a lot like my daughter when she was that age.
Too soon, but that sweet baby-girl is in Heaven now.
As the song says, "When will we ever learn?"
You are in my heart in Philadelphia, PA
Peace be with you all the days to come..... Your angel is in heaven...
