I'd been re-listening to episodes of 'Lights Out,' which is this old-time radio drama from the '30s & '40s. One episode in particular, 'The Ball,' involved a sort of bizarro masquerade. The imagery of it kind of set the creative wheels in motion, and by the end of the night I had the entire treatment written."
