For us, lyrics almost always come after the music, so the song came together as another jam, but we felt like the tone and energy of the music deserved a story that matched that intensity. The lyrics follow the travels and adventures throughout the life of the Young Wayfarer, who to me is almost half Greek hero Odysseus and half BBC time lord Doctor Who. Like both of them, the Wayfarer is a traveler and fights for what he believes, but a life traveling and fighting is a lonely one, I think.
