The Stone Roses, Blur, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are just a few headliners in a sea of solid talent. The return of Phoenix, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Postal Service are also expected at the desert-based festival.

Is it just me or does this feel like the year of the side project? Puscifer, the Postal Service, the Shouting Matches...I guess a festival where people are easily distracted if they don't think what you're doing is as entertaining as the project you're better known for is a pretty good place to get all these guys together.
I'm more or less excited. Kind of a blase response for someone who's going to spend three days in the desert rocking out, it's just that I'm bummed about Daft Punk not playing. Sad face. Plus, the headliners aren't as solid as they could be. Not my number ones by any means. I went ahead and ranked all the bands, by day, from best to worst http://www.ranker.com/tags/coachella-2013 and the big guys are not atop the list. FYI.
