Video: Black Pyramids
Highlight: "This video for Black Pyramids captures both our DIY aesthetic and our love of sonic and visual texture," Brian Cook tells Spinner. "We actually started off making films and Panda Riot grew out of those soundtracks, so it made sense for us to make our own video. We shot this using a near obsolete toy camera from the 80s made by Fisher Price (PXL 2000). The camera records really cool, high contrast, pixelated, ghostly images and we felt that it really captured the vibe of the song. The camera itself is interesting because it was designed to record video onto audio cassette tapes, but Brian modded it to make it digital. The song is off of our upcoming album Northern Automatic Music out on Saint Marie Records on February 19th."
