Morrissey Hospitalized: Singer Reportedly Being Treated for Bleeding Ulcer, Forced to Cancel Shows

UPDATE (10 PM): Morrissey has been diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer. According to a rep for the singer via Billboard, he's expected to make a full recovery, but has been forced to reschedule six upcoming tour dates. His tour will resume on Feb. 9 in Las Vegas, Nev. A rep said in a statement, "Morrissey apologizes greatly for any and all inconvenience and looks forward to continuing his U.S. tour." Rescheduled dates will all be announced in the coming days.
Morrissey has been hospitalized in Michigan and is reportedly undergoing tests for a suspected bladder infection, according to Billboard.
He had canceled his shows scheduled for this weekend and is getting treatment at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich.
On Thursday, Jan. 24, he canceled his show in Flint, Mich., citing a "band illness." Tickets for that show have already been refunded.
It hasn't been announced yet if his scheduled show for tomorrow, Jan. 28, in Asheville, North Carolina will be canceled as well.
His spokeswoman, Lauren Papapietro, said he checked in at the hospital on Friday, but declined to say whether he has been released. She added that further details would be made known.

Those who followed you are now happy moms and dads. If you are in your 40s and still listening to Morrissey, there is something really wrong and I urge you to see a therapist for you sake and those around you. Let it go! Moz, we, your fans don't want to see you play at horse tracks, dog tracks or cheap casino parking lots. Time to give it up.
