CBS Grammy Memo Forbids Bare Breasts, Buttocks, Nipples, Genitals, Etc.

Rihanna showing off sideboob and a bit of underboob at the GrammysLester Cohen, WireImage

It's been almost a decade since Janet Jackson's nipple ruined everything for everyone, and CBS appears to still be afraid of the FCC's wrath when it comes to partial nudity. As Deadline reports (via Atlantic Wire), the network sent out a Standard and Practice e-mail regarding wardrobes of on-camera talent at the Grammys, and it is truly a thing to behold.

"Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible 'puffy' bare skin exposure."

Got that? Rihanna's 2012 Grammy outfit seems like a big no-no now, and we're guessing a few stars are going to have to re-think their outfits for Sunday's ceremony. Oh, and anyone who wants to wear something that promotes a cause or brand, features an obscenity or has something written in a foreign language better watch out too.

"Please avoid commercial identification of actual brand name products on T-shirts. Foreign language on wardrobe will need to be cleared. OBSCENITY OR PARTIALLY SEEN OBSCENITY ON WARDROBE IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR BROADCAST. This as well, pertains to audience members that appear on camera. Finally, The Network requests that any organized cause visibly spelled out on talent's wardrobe be avoided. This would include lapel pins or any other form of accessory."

We'll put the over/under of clear violations at 12. The Grammys take place this Sunday night at 8PM ET on CBS. Check back here for plenty of coverage.

When did it become so appalling to view a woman's breast or any other body part. I think we have created a world which is disconnected from god and nature. I think some foolish old men who are borderline psychotics need to get treatment and not associate other peoples view of nature with their own deviant perceptions.

That's hilarious! They just now woke up to be offended? Must have had a changing of the "Powers that Be". But it's about damn time.
