Devendra Banhart has premiered a new track from his upcoming album, Mala, on Venezuelan music blog Cochinopop. The Spanish-language acoustic ballad is an emotionally straightforward effort, reminiscent of the oft-bearded Venezuelan-American singer/songwriter's Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon (2007). Banhart's reprise of his sound circa-Natalie Portman is refreshing, especially considering his recent penchant for (NSFW) graphic music videos. [Nonesuch]
Spacehog are back! Yay. As It Is On Earth, the English glam rock band's belated followup to 2001's The Hogyssey, is due out April 16. [SPIN]
