In a short note, the New York City indie band's singer Alejandra Deheza wrote said that Curtis is suffering from T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma:
"Dear Friends,
It feels so surreal to be writing this to you. In fact I still can't wrap my head or my heart around it, but here it goes. A few nights ago Benjamin was admitted to the hospital for symptoms that have been getting worse for a few weeks now. After a dozen tests and scans (which he's endured like a champion) , the doctors say it's T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. It developed pretty aggressively, and the chemotherapy to treat it will be pretty aggressive, but the good news is that it's TREATABLE. These next few months will be tough, but he is the toughest person I know (even while here, he was trying to figure out a way to sample the MRI). I wanted to share this with you all, because you guys are such a huge and important part of our lives. Send all of the light and love that you can his way. Every bit will count towards a strong and fast recovery. I believe that with all of my heart. I will be doing the same. Love, Alley."
The band formed in 2007 and formerly featured Alejandra's twin sister Claudia, who quit in 2010.
We here at Spinner wish Curtis a speedy recovery. They released their third album, Ghostory, 2012. We here at Spinner wish Ben a quick recovery.

I had stage 4 non-hodgkins in 1995 and I'm fine today, so it is NOT a "death" sentence by any means like so many feel!
Remain positive, keep friend/ family close, treat aggressively and you WILL be make music 20 years from now!!
Who the hell is Benjamin Curtis and who is School of Seven Bells, and who cares, some people get cancer ! Sorry but this is not news worthy !

February 12 2013 at 12:02 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAt age 31 I was diagnosed with a rare for, of T-Cell Lymphoma. by the time it was diagnosed I was in stage 4. I was given a 25% chance of survival, I had a bone marrow transplant and it saved my life. That was 18 years ago and thankfully I was able to watch my son grow up (he's 20 now) and every day is a gift. Benjamin Curtis just has to stay strong and keep a positive attitude and he should be ok.
February 09 2013 at 10:09 AM Report abuse Permalink +3 rate up rate down ReplyPlease be confident going into this. My friend was in his 70\'s and had this EXACT same cancer. HE is fine today. He even works. Part of your success will be your outlook. Be positive and know that you can do it. Believe. Blessisngs.
February 09 2013 at 8:43 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyDon't know you, but want you to know my son suffered from the same type of cancer and he is now 2 years cancer free and feeling great. Fight the good fight and I will pray for your complete recovery
February 09 2013 at 8:34 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI wish you well with a speedy recovery. I must tell you that I had cancer (Lung) 9 years ago. I took PolyMVA.. holistic .. never took chemo or radiation. Look it up on the computer.. Look to the survivors also. The Cancer Control Society in Los Angeles has many things to consider also. Research.
Much good luck to you. Keep up a positiive attitude... I survived.. you will, too!!! Ronny
