In His Words: "This is the first musical collaboration I've done with [producer] Charlie Klarsfeld and really the first recording since I was a teenager where I didn't use any specific references. Of course, I'd still say stuff like "but the Cars would do it like that" or "I want that bass sound from 'Let's Dance,'" but we wouldn't ever actually listen to a reference and then try to emulate it.
