Jack White, Grammys Controversy: Did Singer Swear During Performance?

While singing his song "Love Interruption" with Ruby Amanfu, it sounded like White sung the curse word, leading to many viewers tweeting about the mistake right afterwards.
But CBS network bosses argue that White said "fight me" and there was no issue.
Martin Franks, an executive at CBS, tells The Hollywood Reporter, "We had 10 editors, and three people on site, and all are experienced, all with multiple Grammy, multiple 'Big Brother,' multiple Tony experience, experience with doing these delays ... They went through all of the rehearsals. They have prepared meticulously. And not a single one of them heard anything other than 'fight.'"
The site reports that the network did not edit White's performance when it broadcast later on the West Coast since they were sure that he did not curse.
White, who was up for three Grammys (Album of the Year and Best Rock Album for "Blunderbuss," and Best Rock Song for "Freedom at 21") sang "Love Interruption" and "Freedom at 21" during his performance.
The CBS editors did, however, catch when one of the band members in Mumford & Sons dropped an F bomb during their Album of the Year acceptance speech, and that was edited out.

Rules don't matter to these self-important celebs. Always pushing the lines of decency, and I'm a little tired of it. So is America.

February 11 2013 at 4:16 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyAnyone who is familier with Jack White and his music would know that he NEVER swears in his songs and there is no way he would do it on the Grammys. I watched his performance and he said FIGHT ME (which are the words to the song) I have seen him live several times, he is my favorite musician and he has way more integrity than that.
