Phoenix 'Bankrupt' Details, QOTSA's Cryptic Messages & More -- News Roundup

Phoenix, Bankrupt!

Phoenix just announced the release date for their upcoming new album, Bankrupt! The French indie rock band that brought you "1901" -- not to mention all those beloved film soundtracks frontman Thomas Mars collaborated on with wife Sofia Coppola -- also published the track list and cover art on their official website. Bankrupt! will be released in the US on April 23. [SPIN]

Ahead of their top spot at the 2013 Governors Ball in New York, Grizzly Bear and the xx will team up this June for tour dates in New England, the Midwest, and Canada. [Consequence of Sound]

Queens of the Stone Age have been releasing some cryptic messages to U.K. music news outlets to build up hype for their upcoming album -- this time, it's Kerrang! who received the honour. The previous two were addressed to Mojo and Uncut. It seems about time for some code-cracking savant to fill us in on what this could all mean. [Antiquiet]

Johnny Marr has been officially granted the title of Godlike Genius for 2013 by the NME Awards (as if anybody needed convincing). The U.K. music awards show, whose coveted trophies display a golden disembodied hand giving the middle finger, will be held in London on Feb. 27. [NME]

The lineup for the 2013 Bonnaroo festival will be announced in a webcast telethon starring Weird Al on Tuesday, February 19th at 1PM ET. I guess that's one way to do it. [CoS]
