Josh Ritter, 'New Lover' -- Lyric Video Premiere

Josh Ritter
But let's be real -- this is a rough day for a lot of people. And if you're in the market for a complicated song about regret and moving on from a broken relationship instead of chocolates and roses, well, you've come to the right place. Behold, Josh Ritter's lyric video for his song "New Lover," one of the lead tracks off his upcoming album The Beast in Its Tracks. The Idaho-born, Brooklyn-based artist penned the album in the wake of his divorce, and here he sings about finding a new woman while wondering if his ex has also moved on with a new man.
"The writing of 'New Lover' just happened," Ritter tells Spinner. "As it sometimes occurs (though rarely), I got lucky and the tangled ball of emotions unrolled itself almost effortlessly into a song. As ever, I wanted to make sure that the personal never precluded the ability of someone else to relate to the song, but thankfully, the song's personality needed no altering. I'm super proud of it, but I almost feel as if I can't take credit for it."
Check out the video below and dig deep into Ritter's beautifully heartbreaking lyrics for "New Lover." The Beast in Its Tracks is due out March 5, and you can catch Ritter on tour in North America and Europe throughout the spring.

nice, Still stings eh? it does get better with time, promise! it all becomes a vague and distant memory but it does take time. I question the wisdom of entering into ANOTHER RELATIONSHIP until you've had sufficient time to heal...because....the healing process is to a great extent, a learning process, time to reflect on what actually happened, "what could or should I have done differently even if it was only getting out sooner!" Did I love enough; was it selfish, stifling; was I too needy, selling myself short, making too many compromises to prevent the inevitable....those wounds, won't leave scars, so you tried too hard well, only your loss. Its when you cause hurt, you will recognise theres damage done to YOU too! that leaves scars. But to find love involves risk, putting your heart on the line, no getting away from that. I suggest that the risk your willing to take is not someone elses. Be cool, get to know yourself first, then you know better what your looking for in a mate; choose wisely, be willing to walk away, pass up 'freebies' there are no 'freebies', when 2 become 1 even for a monent, something gets taken away, a piece of you, bit by bit, so bite the bullet my son and nobody gets hurt!
True love to ya!
.....wonderful lyrics rendered with passion.....loved it....
