Alabama Shakes on 'SNL': Watch 'Hold On' and 'Always Alright' (VIDEO)

Last night, Alabama Shakes played "Saturday Night Live" for the first time. The rootsy rockers performed their breakout hit "Hold On" and "Always Alright," which was written for the "Silver Linings Playbook" soundtrack. And even though host Christoph Waltz messed up their name in his monologue ("Alabama Shake is here!") the band made the most of their big late-night moment. Good God Janis Joplin would be proud I am 62 years old I love some of the music today but this is real music being song from the inside. I wish them success.

Awesome performance!! I had heard "hold on" on the radio but never saw them live. They will never win the "most photogenic" at the Grammy's but who cares, a tight band with a lead who reminds me of a cross between Janice Joplin and Joe Cocker. I will be picking up their album(what's that dad?) TODAY!

well, this group grabbed out attention 100%! Britanny is a raw talent of mammoth proportions and we love her. Gotta see her live. Catch Jitterbug Vipers on utube also. theyare uberkool outta Austin.
