"I don't think it's scary," Ware tells Spinner, in regards to making it here in North America. "I didn't know if it would work out or not, if it did then amazing, but if not, then I'll just go off and do another album. I don't feel pressure to make it work. I'm just trying to enjoy myself."
Things have clearly worked out, though. Most of her six tour stops sold out and not only did eager fans show up, they displayed more than a little enthusiasm.
Ware describes "fans giving me presents from the stage, people singing to me... I've had two different rings given to me and a bunch of flowers. Even people telling me that their sex lives have been improved by my music!
"It's been really lovely," she adds.
Ware has already announced additional dates in April, with plans to formally release Devotion in the States this year. And even though the album isn't officially out here just yet, Ware already has a number of celebrity fans including Katy Perry and A$AP Rocky, who publicly expressed his desire to work with the singer.
"It was such a compliment," she says, singling out Rocky for praise. "I haven't met him yet, but I'd be really up for working with him.
"No one else has really reached out to me, but I'd love to work with Frank Ocean and Kanye West."
One person Ware crossed paths with, but in a more unrequited manner, was Canadian heartthrob Ryan Gosling. After performing an in-store at Amoeba Music in San Francisco, Ware and her sister noticed the actor browsing records.
"My sister was like, 'Oh there's Ryan Gosling,' but kind of jokingly because we thought it was just a lookalike, but it was definitely him," she explains. "I don't think he was there for my in-store, though, I think he was just there to buy music.
"So we just kind of screamed in his face and walked off, it was really embarrassing, but he was so good looking!"
