The band's new video for "Slaughter's Daughter" is a spiky rock number perfect for throwing elbows around the roller derby track. Which was no accident.
"Well, the birth of 'Slaughter's Daughter' came basically through the discovery of a local roller derby team with this name," the band told Spinner in an email. "Three-quarters of our band are from a small Swedish town, Luleå, close to the Arctic circle (which for you passes through like northern Alaska or something?), so naturally we got really excited to find cool girls playing this rough and still very delicate sport over here.
"We found out about Slaughter's Daughter online and wanted to team up with them in our way, so we got our guitars and scribbled the song together. Next step was the video, and record it at the training ground of our new friends was a no-brainer for us since cheerleader-punk and sweaty sports halls are a perfect fit."
"Slaughter's Daughter," the first single and title track of the band's forthcoming EP, will be available Feb. 27. Check out the video:
