Today, Spinner is proud to premiere the new version of "Izabella," a song that Hendrix tinkered with toward the end of his life. The track heard below was recorded in New York City on Aug. 28 1969, 10 days after Jimi closed out Woodstock with a stunning morning set. The band here was the same as Gypsy Sun and Rainbows, his name for the live lineup at the festival: Mitch Mitchell on drums, Billy Cox on bass, Jerry Velez and Juma Sultan on percussion, and Larry Lee -- a recently returned Vietnam veteran who was an old army buddy of Cox and Hendrix's -- on rhythm guitar.
Check out the funky track below and pick up People, Hell and Angels on March 5 via Legacy Recordings.

Good tune, great musicianship, as always with him. He played with the best. Very interesting to hear, but not buy.

Hendrix did not want the sound balance of that recording, or the "re-balancing" of his sound effects of all other recordings that were ordered by a "sister." That sister only met with Hendrix once as a child, she does not have a relationship to Hendrix mother.
"Protectoion of his legacy estate is all well comprehended UNTIL his step-sister redoes his sound effects, releases unwanted titles and does nothing to show a disclaimer of her personal allowance of such effects. There should be a statement on post works and re-structured sound appeals that the choices were that of those un-related to the decisions made by the artist-which is Jimi Hendrix; not his "step sister." If you were alive at the time of Jimi's chosen works and sound balance choices-you KNOW the wisdom revealed!!!
dude...we all know he's dead...

Always interesting to hear but not stuff that holds up to repeated listenings. This is strictly for Hendrix fans. Non-fans will find this raw and unpolished music to be below their expectations for what they expect from an official release.

Most of it is probably just different versions of songs we already know. I'll just wait until it's on Youtube, the musicians who worked hard to create this won't get paid (for obvious reasons) so we shouldn't have to pay. Buy a local band's CD instead, support the musicians.
