The singer and animal rights activist says he canceled his appearance Tuesday on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" because "Duck Dynasty" cast members will be on the talk show.
Morrissey says he can't perform on a show with what he called people who "amount to animal serial killers."
A&E's "Duck Dynasty" reality show follows a Louisiana family with a business selling duck calls and decoys.
A&E did not immediately respond to requests for comment from it and the Robertson family.
A person familiar with the Kimmel show's plans confirmed that Morrissey was to appear. The person lacked authority to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.
The person says Morrissey's performance will be rescheduled.
ABC says the Churchill band will perform Tuesday on Kimmel's show but declined comment on the switch.

"Be a man" -- Why does a man need a fairy tale crutch to fight his battles?

I doubt the same can be said about you. Good luck!
Pretentious douche. This guy is as whiny as his music. Smith's/Morrissey = most overrated crap. Sorry. I don't even care about the Duck Dynasty guys, or watch their show.
March 01 2013 at 4:19 AM Report abuse Permalink +2 rate up rate down ReplyWow, you mst be from duck hunting country, calling someone a pretentious douche for opposing killing as sport smells like duck crap to me.
March 01 2013 at 11:47 AM Report abuse Permalink +1 rate up rate down ReplyWow, you must be from head-in-the-sand country. At least these guys have the guts to actually hunt for food rather than purchase it in a store all the while claiming to be pro-animal. Have you ever looked into how our meat is raised? It's God awful. An animal taken in the wild is never subjected to the cruelity of "farm raised" animals. A single shot and it's done, as oppsed to your typical beef cow raised with 1300 other cows on a single acre. Chickens are penned for the few months of their lives in a cage too small to turn around in, and are in there with another few dozen chickens. Multiply this by billions and the scope of commercial meat operations comes into view. Unlike a deer, a duck, a turkey, a hog which is taken with, usually, one shot it never hears or feels.

March 01 2013 at 3:19 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate downGood thing you commented, Juan! The world needs more apathetic humans like you to pipe up on things you barely understand or care about!
Three Cheers!
As a vegan myself I understand why he did this. I would have done the same. Killing as is not a sport I am also glad that it is brought up in the news as this type of show is not entertainment. No one should not get paid for being killers or any air time.
So many great plant protein dishes are so easy to make and can be bought in the vegetable section of major grocery stores such as Von's. Plant protein is much better for your health and we all know meat causes many major diseases. I believe it is over 40.
It is a great feeling to have a wonderful meal that nothing has to die for feels so good.
A good way to start thinking about this subject is to watch Earthlings free online as it has so much information that it makes you think that we can be compassionate in our daily lives. Many countries eat cat and dogs and I know we think this is horrible yet why is it because of cuteness we won't eat them.
Ever watch the show ? No ? Then shut up .
Plants died for you ... You are a plant killer
Thumbs up to you @italndiva!!! I'm with you on this. It just seems to me that those that feel the need to stalk and hunt animals are trying to compansate for something lacking.
March 02 2013 at 4:30 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHmmm...never gave Morrissey much thought one way or the other, but I'm liking this guy!!
