Peter Buffett Debuts 'Silence Broken' for International Women's Day -- Listen

Many Spinner readers may not know that Warren Buffett's son Peter Buffett is an accomplished songwriter. So in honor of International Women's Day, the singer is sharing his latest single, "Silence Broken."

Buffett's track is filled with carefully crooning electric piano, and an important message -- how violence against women can end, if you help.

"'Silence Broken' was written after I heard a life story (so far) from a young woman. Step by step she made me realize how easy it is to be manipulated when your heart -- your sense of safety and trust -- is broken," Buffett tells Spinner.

"Power feeds off of shame. Shaming is probably the most effective weapon of hurt and manipulation. And sexual abuse must surely cut the deepest. The heart wants to be healed and will believe just about anything as a possible salve -- especially when it's young."
