M.I.A. Hit With Restraining Order After Threatening to Take Child to London

Rapper M.I.A. and her ex, music mogul Benjamin Bronfman, are reportedly in a legal dispute over their son Ikhyd.

The couple split up last year, but both remained residents of Brooklyn, N.Y. where they raised the 4-year-old jointly. According to Page Six, the hip-hop fashionista has threatened her ex with moving their son to London.

Since then, Bronfman has successfully filed for a restraining order in Kings County Court, which effectively bars M.I.A. from taking Ikhyd out of the country. "Ben filed a motion for a temporary restraining order preventing her from taking their son to the U.K. against his wishes," a source tells the gossip column.

Within the past 24 hours, M.I.A. has taken to social media, accusing the Bronfman family of trying "to take my child away." She also has been re-tweeting fans' words of encouragement.

Both party's representatives declined to give comment to the NY Post.
