Keith Richards and Ron Wood Reportedly Helping Each Other Stay Sober

Keith RichardsAfter 40-plus years on the sauce, Rolling Stones guitarists Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood have both decided to give up the hooch. If that's not enough, the recently estranged bandmates have reportedly mended fences and come together to help one another with their mutual recoveries.

"Keith and Ronnie hadn't had much to do with one another but now they're back in touch," friends of the rockers tell U.K. newspaper the Express. "They've both given up alcohol recently so they can obviously relate to each other's situation. They've been giving one another plenty of moral support."

Hot Chip Relearn 'One Life Stand' for the Stage

Hot Chip's Al DoyleWith recording and all the related tasks completed for Hot Chip's new album, 'One Life Stand,' the band faced just one more task before hitting the road this month: learning how to play the songs.

"We had to learn how the actual sequences go," multi-instrumentalist Al Doyle tells Spinner. It seems like the song structures are something the English electro-pop band would know intimately, having just finished the record. Turns out, though, that the band writes and records in piecemeal fashion.

Goldfrapp, 'Rocket (Richard X Eight Four Remix)' -- Song Premiere

    • Posted on Feb 9th 2010 10:50AM by Adam Horne

goldfrappElectro-pop duo Goldfrapp embraces their positive side on 'Rocket (Richard X Eight Four Remix),' the club-ready single off their forthcoming fifth album, 'Head First.' "I got happy," Alison Goldfrapp admitted to Rolling Stone in a recent interview, attributing the group's newfound optimism to a series of unnameable life decisions.

While the London musicians are no strangers to synthesizer-based pop, they put extra emphasis on songwriting this time around. According to Will Gregory, "It was more about the way the songs work melodically than it was about being a big electronic racket. We're just trying to evolve, get closer to the essence of what a bloody good song is."

Have a listen to the exclusive song premiere after the jump.

    Bonnaroo 2010 Lineup Announced Today

Rivers Cuomo of WeezerRather than take the traditional route of making a big lineup announcement, Bonnaroo organizers are taking a different tack this year: they're letting the artists make the announcements themselves.

Starting at 10AM ET today, bands booked for the annual festival have been revealing their plans to head to Manchester, Tenn. this June. So far, Weezer, Phoenix, OK Go, Flaming Lips (performing Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' in its entirety), Dave Matthews Band, Baroness, Isis, Avett Brothers, Jeff Beck and John Fogerty are confirmed, and organizers will publish the full list later today. Spinner will provide an update once more is revealed.

    MGMT Reveal New Album Details

    • Posted on Feb 9th 2010 10:30AM by Michael D. Ayers

MGMTMGMT are set to release their second album, 'Congratulations,' on April 13, with a few special guests, Spin reports. The record features Royal Trux's Jennifer Herrena helping out on vocals, Spaceman 3 principle Sonic Boom producing and the group's live band contributing as well. They also tapped 'Oracular Spectacular' producer Dave Fridmann for mixing duties and spent time recording in upstate New York, Brooklyn and Malibu.

While we've known that one of the tracks, 'Lady DaDa's Nightmare,' was indeed about the ubiquitous pop star Lady Gaga as well as Kanye West, we're now learning that the group has rounded up a bevy of other influences this time on the nine-track set. The title track is said to be about fame and the current economic climate and the tune 'It's Working' was inspired by lead singer Andrew Vanwyngarden's new found love of surfing.

Celeb Doppelganger: Ke$ha and Debbie Gibson

Ke$ha (left) and Debbie Gibson (right)

It was the 'Tik Tok' singer's golden locks and smoky eyes at this year's Grammy Awards that reminded us of Ms. 'Electric Youth' herself. While Gibson's teen-dream image was far cleaner than her pop-music lookalike (Ke$ha unapologetically sings about brushing her teeth with Jack Daniel's), they share the same pouty mouths, elongated faces and high cheekbones.

Ringo Starr Honored With Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

    • Posted on Feb 9th 2010 10:00AM by Steve Baltin

Ringo StarrThe famed Capitol Records building at the corner of Hollywood and Vine has frequently been at the epicenter of Beatle-mania over the last four decades. Monday night saw the phenomenon in full swing once again as Vine Street was closed down and Beatles fans jammed in front of the label home to see Ringo Starr receive the 2,401 star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 45-minute ceremony featured Starr's friends Joe Walsh, Don Was and Ben Harper sharing their memories of the Beatle drummer.

The setting was perfect as Starr himself joked, "It's nice to look at a building you helped pay for."

The event started around 5PM with fans in the street watching a pre-ceremony reel of Starr highlights roll again and again on a large video screen in the middle of Vine. Then the man himself came out to a huge ovation around 7PM., feted by a 21-drum salute from local students.
