Five Things About Ani DiFranco
1. Ani DiFranco started Righteous Babe Records (originally called Righteous Records) in 1990 with just fifty dollars.
2. As a teenager, DiFranco quit playing the guitar briefly to study ballet.
3. DiFranco was the first-ever musician to be honored with the Woman of Courage Award by NOW in 2006.
4. DiFranco graduated high school in Buffalo, New York with 'Ally McBeal' star Jesse Martin.
5.When she was just 19 years old, DiFranco moved to New York City to take poetry classes at the New School.
