U2 Send Birthday Wishes to Bruce Springsteen in New Jersey

U2U2's 360 tour landed at New Jersey's Giants Stadium with fortuitous timing. Wednesday's show, originally slotted for Friday, coincided with a special day for one of the Garden State's most famous residents.

After leading off the show with a quick succession of 'No Line on the Horizon' standouts and old favorites, Bono paused during 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' to send some birthday wishes. "Happy birthday Bruce Springsteen," he said. "60 years old. 16 years old." As the sold-out crowd sang the familiar chorus, Bono called, "Sing it for the Boss." Not satisfied that Springsteen could hear the stadium's wishes all the way to his horse farm 40-plus miles away, Bono urged, "No, sing it for the Boss!" As the song wound down, the band quickly huddled before launching into Springsteen's own 'She's the One,' with Bono tweaking the chorus to "He's the one."

Michael Jackson Felt Birthday Wishes Were Reserved for Moms

Katherine Jackson and Michael JacksonMichael Jackson, who would have turned 51 years old today, didn't believe birthdays were all about getting older, but instead a reason to honor the mother who brought you into the world.

In an interview with ET Online, producer Rodney Jerkins shares Jackson's advice to him when Jerkins turned 25. 'So you're going to celebrate your mother, correct?' the singer asked Jerkins. "I was like, 'Huh, but it's my birthday!'" Michael wasn't hearing it. Jerkins says Jackson continued, "We need to celebrate your mother; she had you on your birthday."

Not one to argue with the King of Pop, Jerkins took his birthday advice. "I had this big party and I celebrated my mother that day because Michael told me you should celebrate your mother on that day."

Around the world, fans are still celebrating the legacy of Michael Jackson, particularly on what would have been his special day to honor his mom Katherine. The singer is scheduled to be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery outside Los Angeles on Sept. 3.

Woodstock 40th Anniversary: Video Highlights

The wonders of modern technology let music lovers relive Woodstock by the dull gleam of a computer monitor, even if we (or even our parents) weren't able to experience the fabled festival first hand. It isn't the same on video, of course, but concerts haven't been the same since the 1969 event, either. So while we can't transport you back in time (The sights! The smells!
