Coachella Expands, Goes Country

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will span three days next year, from April 27-29, an expansion on the two-day, heatstroke-inducing occasion it has been the past.

As if that weren't exciting enough, organizers have also announced that an all-country weekend will be added, featuring performances by Willie Nelson, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Lucinda Williams, Sugarland and others from May 5-6. Yee-haw!

Breaking News: TV on the Radio Inspired by Rosie O'Donnell

TV on the Radio have been suspiciously reticent about sharing their inspiration for the title of their sophomore LP, 'Return to Cookie Mountain.' We -- aka "The Super Sleuths" -- are pretty sure we've figured out why. It's because they don't want to reveal their passion for Rosie O'Donnell's inspirational made-for-TV movie, 'Riding the Bus With My Sister.'

The clip below (which we dubbed with the TVOTR's 'I Was a Lover') features Rosie's mentally handicapped character building a "cookie mountain" out of those gross, Hydrox fake-Oreos nobody likes. Conclusion: 'Return to Cookie Mountain' was inspired by a Hallmark film! You heard it here first!

Need more Rosie? Keep reading for an excellent 'Riding the Bus With My Sister' video montage.

Dr. House Saves Borat!

As we all know, Fox's super surly Dr. House does things his own way, but so does our lord and savior, Sacha Baron Cohen. This weekend the two were strolling to a bar in NYC arm in arm when the spirit of Borat reportedly possessed Cohen. He walked up to a strange man and said, "I like your clothings. Are nice! Please may I buying? I want have sex with it." The strange man, somehow not being familiar with Borat, went all Jeff Tweedy and repeatedly punched Cohen in the face! This continued until Dr. House (alright, alright -- Hugh Laurie) stepped in and saved him.

First of all, yes, maybe Cohen shouldn't be scaring strangers, but honestly, who punches crazies? I don't, because they can't help that they're crazy and also, they might punch back!

Secondly, I like these two together, I think they should take over the 'Lethal Weapon' film franchise now that everybody hates Mel Gibson and Danny Glover looks like a raspberry.

Since you're probably all Borat-ed out, keep reading for some video of Ali G's interview with celebrated intellectual Noam Chomsky. Big ups!

Stream the Sufjan Xmas Box Set

Asthmatic Kitty is currently streaming the entire Sufjan Stevens Christmas canon (that's what I call it) here. The five-disc box set includes stickers (!), sheet music (!!) and short stories written by Sufjan (!!!). It will be in stores on November 21, but if you just can't wait, you can take advantage of the pre-sale.

My favorite has always been 'The Friendly Beasts' for some reason. I think I like all the animals talking about baby Jesus, even if they are a little self-righteous about all the work they did to get him born. That aside, I have a special place in my heart for the tired little donkey who is "shaggy and brown." Enjoy!

Jenny Lewis Brings Her Sequins to the Children

I keep hearing about this Pancake Mountain children's show, but I have yet to see an entire episode. A friend once excitedly emailed me after her first viewing, describing it as, "A show where hilarious kids dance around to real bands. And sometimes there are puppets." Well, like an idiot I kept neglecting it, until today when PFork posted this lovely clip of Ms. Jenny Lewis shakin' her sequin mini-dress for some small children.

Judging by this clip alone, Pancake Mountain is clearly an awesome show that we should all be watching.

For the Hipster With Everything: Halloween Edition

Sometimes Swiss designer Stephane Barbier Bouvet makes sweet things, like birdhouses with cookies inside of them, but sometimes he also likes to make ashtrays out of human skulls. Scroll down to the third item here to learn more about these "limited edition" human bone ashtrays, pencil-holders and photo stands. Act soon -- he only has 7 of them to spare, and no, he does not explain how he got them.
