With the alleged release of a Gene Simmons sex tape, the blog-o-sphere has been going wild with reports. However, Barry E. Mallen, Simmons' legal counsel, has confirmed, through an email to Owen Thomas the managing editor at valleywag.com, that the tapes are indeed the Kiss bassist and were taped without his knowledge by Traci Anna Koval. The statement further explains that the copyrights of the tape were acquired in a written agreement from Koval by Allied Industry Tours, Ltd.

Simmons and his legal representation are demanding a cease and desist on all streaming of the film from the website which has been charging users to view the scandalous tape. Futhermore, Simmons is demanding all profits earned from the online stream, as well as the legal fees incurred by Simmons, be paid to the Kiss member.

The email also demands penalties be paid for the usage of Gene Simmons name and likeness on the Web site as it violates California's right of publicity statue. Finally, the email requires that the website in question reveal the source by which they received a copy of the sex tape as the written agreement with Koval warranted that no copies existed.

Alleged Gene Simmons Sex Tape Surfaces

A sex video allegedly featuring KISS bassist Gene Simmons has surfaced on www.GenesSecret.com. The footage appears to be Simmons in several different positions with an Australian model named Elsa, who is a spokesperson for Frank's Energy Drink, a product which Simmons also reportedly endorses.

If the man in the video is indeed Simmons, it wouldn't be too far-fetched. The rocker has boasted that he has slept with more than 4,600 women, which he claims does not bother his live-in girlfriend and mother of his two children, Shannon Tweed. He was also a presenter at the 2007 AVN Adult Movie Awards, where he won the 'Golden Tongue Award.' And he told Spinner in an exclusive interview last year, "Life is like being a stripper: Eventually you've got to take it all off." He also joked with us that fellow sex-tape star Paris Hilton is "a bigger rockstar than anybody."

GenesSecret.com is run out of Panama by an unidentified owner. The site is charging $9.95 for a one-day viewing of the racy video.

Pete Doherty's Homoerotic Hot Shots

Today was a wildly entertaining day on the interwebs. We hit the floor after Sarah Silverman's 'I'm F---ing Matt Damon' video, and got a dose of "Wow, that's really cool" after watching an improv group make human still art in Grand Central station. But, as he tends to do, Pete Doherty stole the show.

Photos of the often-in-shambles Babyshambles frontman playing tonsil hockey with Peter Wolfe surfaced to the delight of bloggers everywhere. While the randy pic of Dohery and Wolfe -- who has been credited with introducing Doherty to Debauchery 101 -- was taken in April of 2004, its journey around the web couldn't come at a better time. The ex-Libertines musician is on the cover of Spin this month, espousing his newfound commitment to clean.

Amy Winehouse Bleaches the Beehive

UPDATE: The singer has gone 'Back to Black' and is again sporting her trademark black beehive.

Nothing says "fresh start" like a makeover. And with the year that the embattled singer had in 2007, no one -- save for Britney Spears, of course -- needs one like Amy Winehouse.

Fresh off a Caribbean vacation, the 'Back to Black' singer was spotted back in London sporting a white-hot new 'do, reminiscent of the retro rockabilly lady tattoos she sports on her arms. But don't let the blond hair throw you -- she's still rocking her signature cat-eye makeup.

In celebration of her transformation, here's a look at some of music's most notorious follicular schizophrenics.

The Shins keyboardist Marty Crandall was arrested by the Sacramento police for a domestic violence charge against his girlfriend, Elyse Sewell. Sewell, a former 'America's Next Top Model' contestant, posted photos of her bruised arm as well as a blog post about the experience on her Live Journal account. She has since removed the post at the advice of her legal team.

Meanwhile, Sewell was also arrested after Crandall showed a bite mark on his arm to officials. She was later released.

The keyboard player allegedly assaulted Sewell while in an intoxicated state on January 4. Crandall is still in custody, with bail set at $25,000. Crandall's court date is scheduled for Tuesday.

Stephen Stills Recovering From Surgery

Legendary singer-songwriter Stephen Stills of Crosby, Stills & Nash underwent surgery on his birthday, January 3, for prostate cancer. Stills' wife, Kristen, released a statement after the procedure saying it "went remarkably well and he couldn't be better."

Stills' condition was announced by bandmate Graham Nash on December 17, in a telephone interview on 'Larry King Live.'

Meanwhile, the singer is still scheduled to appear at the premiere of the biographical indie film 'CSNY / Deja vu', directed by fellow Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young performer Neil Young, at the Sundance Film Festival on January 25. He is expected to return home today.

The DL: Songs to Get Busy To

Here at The DL we know the importance of some good booty time. But when tappin' dat, what are you listening to? We wanted to know so we hit the streets to ask you what tunes you be bumping while you're bumpin'. T.M.I.? You be the judge.

The scene: London. The situation: A legendary country icon meets a charismatic glam rocker. The result: 'Jake's Adventure in Dollywood,' a UK TV special where Scissor Scissors frontman Jake Shears goes in-depth with the ever-affable Dolly Parton.

Taking time out from promotion of her 2008 Backwoods Barbie tour and the launch of the UK chapter of her children's charity, Imagination, Parton talks to Shear about her life, career ... and even her "boobs." For those on this side of the pond, here's a glimpse of the action. The special will air on the UK channel T4 on December 26.

Bono's daughter, Jordan Hewson, was the target of an abduction plot in 1994. Five Irish criminals reportedly planned to demand $8 million in exchange for the U2 frontman's then four-year-old daughter.

However, according to a new book written by the daughter of gangster Martin "The General" Cahill, Frances, the plan foiled when Martin called off the mission after six straight months of camping out at Bono's Dublin estate. "It ISN'T going to happen," he said. Frances is the eldest of Cahill's nine children, and the Bono-related scam is just one of the many shameful acts detailed in her book 'Martin Cahill, My Father,' which was released last week.

PJ Harvey Shows the French How to 'Grow'

The release of PJ Harvey's latest album, 'White Chalk,' is less than two weeks away from its October 2 release, but the French were treated to a preview of the piano-based effort recently when the eclectic Harvey stopped by 'Esprits Libres' for a mesmeric performance of new tune, 'Grow Grow Grow.' Yes, that's an autoharp. No, Hot Topic doesn't carry that dress.

Dance-infused rockers the Klaxons won the much coveted 16th Mercury Music Prize -- an annual awared bestowed upon the "best U.K. album of last year" -- in London Monday night, with their latest album, 'Myths of the Near Future.' The band beat out a dozen of Britain's most buzzed-about acts, including last year's winner, Arctic Monkeys, and highly favored throwback-soul queen Amy Winehouse, to win the honor.

"A year ago we were in the studio making this album and we were in the studio watching Arctic Monkeys win this," Klaxons keyboardist James Righton said. "We saw that and thought we have to make a new album."

"Mercury is about pushing music forward and that's what we've done," chimed singer-bassist Jamie Reynolds. "It's great that people have recognized."

Meanwhile, the embattled Winehouse, who recently cancelled her U.S. fall tour following a drug overdose and subsequent stint in rehab, made a surprise appearance at the ceremony, performing an acoustic rendition of 'Love Is a Losing Game,' off her Mercury-nominated, platinum-selling album, 'Back to Black.' Winehouse was short on words, offering up a simple "Thank you," before exiting the stage and joining a table with her family.

Watch Winehouse's performance after the jump.

Nikki Sixx isn't exactly the kind of guy a girl would want to take home to Mama. Unless, of course, you hear the Motley Crue bassist tell it.

"We would put bounties out on stupid s***, like whoever could sleep with the fattest chick," Sixx tells Blender of the band's past party days. "And managers would start getting involved -- one of them said there was a $10,000 bounty out for whoever could sleep with a mother-daughter team. Then that became too easy, so it was a mother-daughter-grandmother team."

Bid on Neko Case's Bustier

Neko Case is probably sick to death of hearing how she's the "sexiest babe of indie rock," but quite frankly, it's true. The flame-haired hottie sexed it up Bettie Page-style for a 1999 pin-up calendar, and now photographer Victoria Renard is auctioning off the black bustier Case wore for the sizzling shot.

Green Day Resurrect John Lennon for 'Idol'

Speaking of irony, Green Day went from 'American Idiot' to 'American Idol' Wednesday night with a surprise -- though widely rumored -- performance on the latter's season finale. While the punk vets' appearance seems to negate their anti-capitalism sentiments, Billie Joe and Co. will do whatever the hell they want, thank you very much. Especially if it means abandoning their proverbial soap box for a good cause.

Spinal Tap Reunite to Save the World

Can a band that never really existed actually reunite ... again? Well, if that band is Spinal Tap, then hell yeah.

The faux-rockers immortalized in the 1984 cult mockumentary 'This is Spinal Tap' -- singer David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), guitarist Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest) and bassist Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer) -- will regroup for a special performance at London's Wembley Stadium as part of the worldwide Live Earth concerts on July 7.

"They're not that environmentally conscious, but they've heard of global warming," 'Spinal Tap' director and co-star Rob Reiner told the Associated Press. "Nigel thought it was just because he was wearing too much clothing -- that if he just took his jacket off it would be cooler."
