Video Flashback: 'Rid of Me,' PJ Harvey

PJ Harvey recently announced another one-off tour date behind her latest album, 'White Chalk.' The elusive singer-songwriter will play Auditorium Parco Della Musica in Rome on March 9. The performance follows a string of scheduled dates in New Zealand and Australia, beginning February 13 Auckland, and wrapping on February 22 in Perth, Aus. To gear up for her shows Down Under, here's a video of Harvey performing 'Rid of Me,' from 2001's Big Day Out festival.

New Music: Nine Inch Nails, 'Survivalism'

'Survivalism' is the first single off Nine Inch Nails' forthcoming 'Year Zero.' We told you about cryptic messages that Trent has been sending through waveforms, but this track comes through loud and clear. 'Survivalism' maintains the retro-industrial ruggedness without sounding outdated.

Rob Crow to Tour + Video

San Diego indie-rock innovator Rob Crow has delivered some amazing music over the past decade and a half, through bands like Heavy Vegetable, Three Mile Pilot and Pinback. Crow recently embarked on a solo career, dropping an album called 'I Hate You Rob Crow.' If it wasn't apparent before that he has skills, it's as clear as day here. Have a look at the odd-yet-good video for 'I Hate You Rob Crow' and keep reading for an MP3 and his tour dates.

Ted Leo Visits the Interface, Covers Curtis Mayfield

I have to say, having Ted Leo in for the Interface was a treat. After a rigorous day-long practice with the Pharmacists, as they prep for a tour to support 'Living With the Living,' Leo came into our office solo. The brief time I spent with him reminded me that his kind is a dying breed. He's spent over two decades in the D.I.Y. punk scene and is still making music that never loses focus of the message.

Leo played a total of six songs, two of which are from the forthcoming album. He (of course) also performed two covers. He also spoke about his political frustrations, veganism (he played "guess the vegan" with us and scored pretty well) and he even went for a job interview with The DL (more on that later).

Keep reading for more photos and to listen to his cover of Curtis Mayfield's 'Keep on Pushing.'

Matthew Herbert Drops '100 Lbs.' Again

In the mid-'90s, Matthew Herbert released three EPs of groundbreaking deep-electro house, which later became known as the '100 Lbs.' LP. The recordings still stand up today, even though Herbert's work leading up to last year's acclaimed 'Scale' LP has been a radical artistic departure.

Jamie Lidell credits Herbert as a mentor in moving from production in Super_Collider to a live artist. Herbert has produced remixes for artists including R.E.M., Serge Gainsbourg, the Avalanches and Cornelius. Herbert also programmed three tracks on Bjork's super-experimental masterpiece 'Vespertine.'

On January 23, you can experience the tracks from Herbert's early days all over again with a double CD re-release of '100 Lbs.,' which includes a full disc of rarities. Keep reading to download 'Freeze.'
