Courtney Blog-Blasts Billy Corgan for Making Frances Bean Cry

Courtney Love has reportedly taken to a social networking site to condemn Billy Corgan because he won't be attending her daughter's Sweet 16 celebration next month. In a bitter and somewhat incoherent tirade last week, Love purportedly took aim at the Smashing Pumpkins frontman and former Hole collaborator on a social forum Web site, calling his behavior "unacceptable" and accusing the guitarist and singer of making her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, cry.

"Corgan, I'm at work and am too tired to find you or get a number that you still have not sent me," Love blogged. "Out of whatever misguided shame thing you're going through (that is a private conversation), you do not make children cry. A sweet sixteen is a big event and I think she looked upon you as family. I know she did, as a trustworthy and wise (child), and you can't lay your s--- on a child of [m]ine, and you as a man of 40 -- my child sobbing, due to you, is unacceptable. I hate stating this on some random public forum, but the line is the kid, man. The line is the kid, and she does not get to shed tears over you. Her family has already done that."

Scott Weiland Is a Loogie Man

Additional details of a May interview between Scott Weiland and Los Angeles Times reporter Chris Lee has revealed that the troubled Stone Temple Pilots frontman has a fondness for launching "huge green" loogies at the wall and verbally assaulting members of the media.

During the exchange, which was held in advance of the singer's jail sentence for a November 2007 drunk driving charge (for which he ultimately only served six hours in a Van Nuys lockup), Scott took a cue from Lou "what are you, a f---ing asshole?" Reed. Here's how it went down:

Lee: "How disruptive has it been on band unity to have you going to serve jail time just before reuniting onstage for the first time in five years?"

Weiland: [Spits huge green loogie on the wall that drips down just behind bassist Robert DeLeo and his brother, guitarist Dean DeLeo, who, it must be noted, plays it off like nothing had happened.]

Lee: "Where's your head at right now just before going to jail?"

Weiland: "All these questions are ..., man. Who do you interview? To what level?"

Josh Homme Insists Tirade Was Not Homophobic

It looks as if Queens of the Stone Age mouthpiece Josh Homme has done some soul searching since word got out about his verbal assault against a fan in a week ago. And while Homme's repeated utterance of the term "faggot" on a widely seen video stunned music fans globally, he insists his tirade was not homophobic.

Check out Homme's open letter, released late last week:

"Member of the Peanut Gallery:

Some journalists & citizens on the internet are wondering: Q? Am I a homophobe because I included a slang for gay in with other 'acceptable' curse words during a verbal lashing I gave a young concertgoer, after being hit by his shoe, during a show the other day? A= Nope. My gay family and friends, as well as myself, KNOW I am not a homophobe. For years now I've known gay is not a choice; one's skin color doesn't determine one's intelligence level; and red hair doesn't mean you're someone's stepchild. You see, it's not the words, it's their intent. I never said, nor suggested, that being gay is wrong, but apparently, based on your outrage to my flu-infused rant, you do! By that logic, I also told that young whipper snapper I'd have anal sex with him. How can I possibly reconcile these opposing viewpoints? I called him a p---- too. Does it mean I hate our one worlds' collective vagina? I never have been nor intend to be politically correct. That's your cross to bear.

Gene Simmons Blames Radiohead, NIN for Dead Music Biz

Kiss bassist Gene Simmons is blaming artists like Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails and Green Day offshoot the Foxboro Hot Tubs for "contributing to the demise of the record industry" by giving away their music for free.

Gene's also blaming the fans.

"The record industry is dead," Simmons tells paper the Daily Star. "It's six feet underground and unfortunately the fans have done this. They've decided to download and file share."

Explaining why Kiss hasn't released a new album in a decade -- its last was 1998's widely-panned 'Psycho Circus' -- the not-so-forward-thinking, tongued one continued, "There is no record industry around so we're going to wait until everybody settles down and becomes civilized. As soon as the record industry pops its head up we'll record new material."

Translation: Don't hold your breath for a new Kiss disc, kids.

Kid Rock Claims iTunes Cheats Musicians

Alongside the Beatles and AC/DC, Kid Rock is still one of the few major stars who has yet to allow his music catalog to be available through iTunes. So why the hold out? The man born Bob Ritchie claims artists just don't get paid enough for aligning with the Apple-owned digital store.

Rock claims iTunes is based on the same old system that cheated music legends out of their cut. Speaking to BBC News this week, the self-professed "American Badass" said, "iTunes takes the money, the record company takes the money, and they don't give it to the artists." Despite his unwillingness to acquiesce to the popular service, Rock still pulled down a number one debut last fall when he released his latest disc 'Rock 'n' Roll Jesus' through traditional means.

"Back in the day, we all know the stories of the Otis Reddings and Chuck Berrys and Fats Dominos who never got paid," the Detroit-area artist added. "So the internet was an opportunity for everyone to be treated fairly, for the consumer to get a fair price, for the artist to be paid fairly, for the record companies to make some money."

"I will be on iTunes eventually because I can't avoid it," he conceded, "but I like to always stick to my guns and prove a point and do something original and because I believe in it."

Lou Reed Rips 'New York' a New One

While promoting his Sirius Satellite Radio Show, 'New York Shuffle,' rocker Lou Reed lost his marbles. During an interview with New York magazine, Reed responded to writer Andrew Goldstein's question about the pending merger of Sirius and rival XM with a verbal can of whoop-ass.

Here's how it went:

Goldstein: "Sirius' impending merger with XM is anticipated to boost earnings. Do you own any stock in the company?"

Reed: "What are you, a f---ing a--hole? I'm here telling you the truth about music and you want to know if I have stock in the f---ing radio? You f---ing piece of s---. What did I do to deserve that?"

Maybe Reed should call the show, 'New York Scuffle'?

Dolly Parton Peeved at Howard Stern

Don't mess with a Southern girl, y'all.

Dolly Parton has fired back at the Howard Stern radio show, in response to a bit that originally aired May 6 on the top rated Sirius Satellite program, which , according to the singer, electronically manipulated her speaking voice using elements of her audiobook to create "racist and sexually vulgar statements." An outraged Parton hinted a lawsuit might be forthcoming as a result of the comedic bit.

"I have never been so shocked, hurt and humiliated in all my life," Parton said in a statement. "I cannot believe what Howard Stern has done to me. In a blue million years, I would never have such vulgar things come out of my mouth."

"They have done editing or some sort of trickery to make this horrible, horrible thing," the legendary country singer continued. "Please accept my apology for them and certainly know I had nothing to do with this. If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it's going to be over this. Just wanted you to know that I am completely devastated by this."

Stern's 'anything-goes' broadcast has become notorious -- especially since its move to Sirius -- for such vocal manipulations. The use of sound clip manipulation takes place on a regular basis in bits and phony phone calls that are often the work of Stern staffers Sal "the Stockbroker" Governale and Richard Christie.
