Broken Bells combine the ingenuity of musician/producer Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton and the musical dexterity of The Shins’ frontman, James Mercer. Mixing the two artists' diverse musical aesthetics, their eponymous album has a bittersweet, melodic sound with a definite hip-hop influence. The fusion of creativity between this wonderfully odd match leaves no room to wonder why the pair’s album is receiving such acclaim.
