Why We Love Them: This group knows how to craft well-written tunes, but what's more important is that they know how to deliver them with adrenaline and feeling. It's no surprise that they're often credited for their influence on the alt-country genre; they fuse country rock and guitar pop with urgent twang and lovelorn lyrics, and balance them to feel just right. While we love to hear them rock, we can only hope that Rhett Miller and Co. never leave their down-home, Southern roots behind.
