Some critics are hailing this film as Australia's answer to Dreamgirls, but it's so much more fun, delightful and generally better than that. This based-on-a-true story musical about a group of Koori aboriginal women who go on a tour of Vietnam to perform Motown hits for soldiers is almost as perfect as its girl group harmonies. IT Crowd and Bridesmaid star Chris O'Dowd is just as charming as ever as the group's ne'er-do-well manager and all four of The Sapphires match him toe-to-toe in the charisma department.
