Grace Jones was already a successful model and Studio 54 regular when she signed a deal with Island Records in 1977. From there, she went on to become a gay club star, Andy Warhol collaborator, a pop/disco/new wave phenomenon, Bond Girl, film star and all-round fashion and art icon. To this day, the incomparable Jones is still at it, and even hula-hooped through her performance at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert is London last year.
