The Performance: The girl group’s lackluster, sloppy and, according to singer Belinda Carlisle’s recent autobiography, coke-fueled renditions of 'Our Lips Are Sealed' and 'We Got the Beat' were among the worst in Go-Gos history.
Career Impact: Despite their less than inspiring 'SNL' appearance, the Go-Gos took off in 1982. Their album, 'Beauty and the Beat,' spent six weeks at the top of the US charts and both 'Our Lips Are Sealed' and 'We Got the Beat' became major hits. They were also nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys.
