Back to 12 Artists Who Bombed on SNL

The performance: Bless Chris Martin’s heart. He was clearly giving 'Viva La Vida' everything he had, and his awkward dance moves would almost have been forgivable had they not messed with his vocals so much. But the cardiovascular demands of doing whatever he was doing took their toll and the sweet high notes that won so many hearts back in the 'Yellow' days ended up sounding more like a death rattle by the time the chorus came around. The song never really recovered from that croak.
Career Impact: Nil. Following their 'SNL' appearance, Coldplay cleaned up at the World Music Awards, the BRIT Awards and the Grammys. Then they collaborated with a little-known artist named Jay-Z. Today, their world domination continues with their latest album, 'Mylo Xyloto.'
