Lollapalooza in Chicago, Illinois on August 3-5

The Lollapalooza touring festival was born of the alternative movement in the early-'90s and featured then-breakout acts like Jane's addiction, Pearl Jam, Sonic Youth, Rage Against the Machine, Nine Inch Nails and Hole. It's no longer a touring event (though there are satellite Lollas in Chile and Brazil), but instead a centralized weekend party in Chicago.
