Johnny Cash 'My Mother's Hymn Book'

While it was included in Unearthed, the exhaustive Rick Rubin-produced box set that was released after Johnny Cash's death in 2003, My Mother's Hymn Book was released as a standalone album in 2004. And rightly so; this intimate recording features just the Man in Black and an acoustic guitar, playing the Christian songs he learned from his mother as a child. In the liner notes, Cash writes that this is favorite album he's ever made.
