A "Big Man" in both sound and stature, Clemons was the not-so-secret ingredient on Bruce Springsteen's greatest tracks. The saxophonist, who died following a stroke, gave the E Street Band its link to '50s rock 'n' roll, and on 'Jungleland,' perhaps his crowning moment, he captured the mix of hope and despair so central to the Boss' songwriting. When Springsteen hits the road later this year, someone's going to have massive shoes to fill.
